The Top Ten Life Principals of Bill Gates

Author: Talina Rose

Bill Gates is one of the founders of Microsoft. He is also a software engineer, the chairman of Microsoft as well as a philanthropist in the United States. Bill Gates is well-known for his unique capabilities in the business field and has great impact on the world economic development.

Bill Gates was born in 1955 and co-founded Microsoft with Paul Allen. Microsoft is the leader in the field of personal computing, commercial calculation software and Internet technology throughout the world. According to the related data released in 2008, the revenue of Microsoft in the last fiscal year reached $62 billion. And its business expanded to 78 countries and areas, with the total number of employees reaching more than 91,000.

Bill Gates holds 8 percent of common stock of Microsoft, which makes him the main shareholder of the company. During the period of 1995 to 2007, Bill Gates ranked as the richest man in the world on the list of Forbes for the billionaires. In 2008, Bill Gates declared to leave Microsoft and donated his personal property of $58 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill Gates ranked as the top one on the billionaire list of Forbes in 2009, owning a total amount of $40 billion.

Bill Gates is a legendary to some extent. Not only does he set a good example in the business field, he also transmits some life philosophy through his speeches and sayings. Here I would like to share with you his top ten life principals.

1.Life is not fair, get used to it.

2.The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

3.You will not make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone, until you earn both.

4.If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

5.Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.

6.If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about our mistakes, learn from them.

7.Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rainforest from the parasites of your parents generation, try "delousing" the closet in your own room.

8.Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades; they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

9.Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

10.Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

These above mentioned principals of Bill Gates really tell us something useful and contain some life wisdom. Whenever you feel depressed or discouraged, or you are encountering difficulties in life, learn from Bill's life wisdom, and then you will find that life is just simple and there is nothing impossible if you learn to be a wise man and the real master of life.

Yes, to be the real master of life is the life long course we are taking all the time. Actually learn to be the master of life isn't as difficult as we have imagined. What we should do is just to take life easy and deal with the various situations in an optimistic and appropriate way.

For instance, if you are feeling great pressure and pains from your job, or from the complicated social relationships, why not having a rest and viewing the difficulties in a different perspective? This will make your life much better and easier. To go on a travel with some of your friends or enjoy a concert may be a pretty good way to relax and refresh yourself.
